Working method

How an engagement unfolds

Boards care about dates and surprises. This page shows the sequence we use so finance teams know when fieldwork starts, when queries arrive, and when the opinion is ready.

1. Scoping and independence

We confirm the reporting framework, period, and group structure, then run independence checks before an engagement letter is issued. If we cannot accept the work, we say so early.

2. Planning and document request

Materiality, significant risks, and a tailored request list go to your finance lead. Bank confirmation letters are drafted so authorised directors can sign them before fieldwork week.

3. Fieldwork

Teams attend your premises for walkthroughs, inventory observation, and substantive samples. Evening query batches keep interruptions predictable for accountants still closing the books.

4. Clearance and draft findings

Open items are cleared with journal support or additional evidence. A draft management letter and proposed adjustments are discussed with those charged with governance.

5. Report and file close

The auditor’s report is signed when sufficient appropriate evidence is on file. Working papers are archived; you receive the final statements package for board and lender use.
